I've enjoyed reading some of your posts PaperProphet, but this one is pretty off. Cold fusion refers only to the process of fusing Hydrogen atoms into entirely new Helium atoms... there is none of that going on in the reactor, just the combination of elements at the atomic level.

It is entirely plausible in this combination that BTUs of the product could be greater than BTUs of the feedstock AND that even the mass of the product could be greater than the mass of the feedstock (seems like a pretty basic law of physics?) given that the molar mass may change in the reaction.

I had this same query when looking at the mass conversion numbers for Fuel Frontiers (a similar ethanol company under NSOL) and luckily they had thier reaction mechanism posted on thier website (http://www.fuelfrontiers.com/technology.htm):
nCO + 2nH2 -> CnH(2n+1)OH + (n-1)H2O

... this of course because ethanol isn't a proprietary compound like JR's :)
