Yes, you're right. The gun is a Remington firearms trade mark. Thanks for the info on the 480 Ruger. We've lived in the high mountains of Southern Colorado above 10,000' for over 30 years without a life threatening experience with our animal population except for a time when my wife and I were attacked by a bull moose during the rut. WE were jogging on one of the ranch trails, came up over a rise and literally ran within 15' of the bull before all involved realized it was a life threatening moment. Unfortunately, we had our big Bouvier dog with us that immediately charged the moose. There was one beetle killed tree about 10' from the two of us. The moose looked at me, I dived for the base of the tree> The moose flew through the air and pinned me to the base with his paddle and began working me over with his 9X9 hoofs. I figured I was dead meat but wasn't going out without a fight so I hit him in the mouth only to get my running watch caught on his lower incisor tooth. At which point he jerked me off the ground like a rag doll and threw me down and was going in for the kill when my wife screamed and went into "bull fighting" mode and distracted the moose so he went after her but missed on the lunge at her, then trotted down the mountain like nothing ever happened. Other than a few cuts and scrapes and my torn calf muscle, neither of unswore seriously injured. Very lucky!!! That experience created a special bond between me and the bull moose on the ranch, in that I really enjoy watching them from a distance at the salt blocks that we position near our main lake. When it comes to bull moose and mountain lions, no amount of firepower is gonna save ya from a surprise attack. You and I both know that if they're intent on taken you out, you'll be dead before you ever know they're their:):):)
