Apple was responsible for the legal fees in the prosecution of Kang. (see below)



That’s my point. There is no indication of legal fees paid by LMT nor that they were engaged in litigation with Kang, other than the case heading, so the footnote appears to confirm who paid the legal costs, although it’s not conclusive.

You need to trade in your Mensa membership card for a calculator.



I was only kidding about that. I wasn’t impressed with their membership, so not only did I not have my membership card laminated, but I tossed it in the trash in front of the other members art the last meeting.

That’s $130k on the low side. Not $20k-$30k



I like to pretend I know a little something, after my own calc’s and talking to two IP partners at Cooper Dunham and Reed Smith as to how much litigation like that would cost based on complexity of the issue and number of filings. They indicated the defendant was smart to settle as soon as practically possible because he had no defenses and would have faced serious sanctions by the court, so yeah, they said about 20-30K because they can dispose of a case like that without a lot of work, just like Jenny Kim did, who did an outstanding job.
