I didn't think to ask about his methodology. I know he is well thought of within his profession. He has a physics and engineering background. I also discovered that becoming a certified actuary is no mean feat. Risk analysis and management is just one facet of the job.
He indicated that third party mining engineers should have been brought in to assess the results of what exploration has been done to this point and determine what testing is required in the future. He said that the way things were established it was a license to steal. He said 33+ million dollars was a lot of money in the hands of a neophyte with little/no schooling and no known mining experience.
I didn't want him to expend a vast amount of time since he had spent more than half of his weekend looking into what essentially is a black hole.
The next time I talk to him I'll ask him to elaborate further on his findings.
