Plenary talks at conferences are generally by invitation. So I am not sure why does she need to tell them that she communicates a justification that she will get data by that time.
Most likely, they just invited her and she just submitted that abstract related to DC-Vax studies.


For normal presentations, one submits an abstract then it is either accepted or not.
But for plenary, the conference chair invites the speaker because she is a big shot in the field.
