I am going with scenario #1.

If you read Fountain's accomplishments, he appears to be no lightweight. I've ordered his book to see how he thinks about starting up a business. That he's done that before, and made big $$$ in doing so is what allows me to choose #1.

I hope for all of us that I'm right.
