Lmao they gain the patents. Im pretty sure companies merge because of a beneficial value they have to each other. Many patents are held that other companies would love to get their hands on. Gaining access to patents that are in phase 3 trials and beyond at the price of merging with a sub-penny stock company is a cost-effective way of doing it. Patents can be worth 50+ million at phase 3.
