There is a way but not for a non trading stock.
A family member moved shares of UOIP to another family member while UOIP was still trading. The new family member with new shares had to have the shares in their possession for 1year or more. At that time, the concern was UOIP settling or selling the patent and that didn't happen. I believe you can transfer (an active stock) between family without paying commission. TD to TD but not TD to eTrade - for example. I am sure you investigated but wanted to tell you we did within our family.
