According to the vein reader manufacturer, they only need to be cleaned once a month, without alcohol and disconnection of the USB cable is required. Note that no new instructions have been issued to address COVID-19. Do you really feel safe using a product that has not seen a recent COVID specific update?? I think I'll skip that.

And that CDC recommendation is for household surfaces in general, not for touchscreens or public areas. Following the CDC guidelines for public areas would be better.
