You're not understanding Ameritrade's presentation. Your shares are recognized as though they are valid, registered shares. The brokerage machinery has no other way to portray them. I'm in the same situation with Ameritrade showing a $320 value.

Try selling those shares! You'll understand much more, I assure you.
