Janice, thank you for this very interesting and detailed reply. It covers a lot of personal issues I didn't knew about. Back then, I was a teenager and protester like half of the youth all over the world and he was the face of the evil for us.
But, I recommend two books about him which will probably explain our sight here. Haven't read it but got the essence of them.

Tim Weiner: One man against the world
