Well, as dark as things look to many on the COVD-19 front I think we are getting a better picture of how it will play out in the west with Italy and now Spain peaking.

They will probably end up around 500-600 deaths per 1M. For the US, there is an excellent chance we can keep it well under for many reasons. Demographics, population density alone are a significant factor. My sock toss says 50-75K deaths or so with numbers having peaked here in a few weeks IF we avoid the entire north-east through rust belt going hyper. In the worst case we could be looking more like 150K and lockdown going through May.

As bad as that sounds, it is not the end of the world as we know it. And at least I expect my garden will look picture perfect smile

In Western Europe, I expect it to be worse than the US except for the few countries that took it seriously before it broke out.
