I'm not a ventilator expert, but I imagine metal parts are preferable to plastic in this application because they are not porous, thus not conducive to sequestration of virus particles, resistant to high temperatures used for sterilization, and less subject to fatigue fracture. Because Liquidmetal is injection moldable like plastic, it seems to be an excellent material for this application - mass production of small, robust metallic parts.
