MMs play both sides of the fence & make twice as much on commissions vs only letting it go one way ...UNTILL there are many buyers spending mucho cash driving price up ..thus attracting "new money" ..shorts then get kicked to the curb.
In other words ...MMs make more money playing both sides of the fence...without letting it run away ..until they can't hold it.

This is why profitable companies BUYBACK their own shares..driving the pps up...investing in (our) own company.
