I take pride in trying to assist / encourage all legitimate retail traders attempting to better their future ( and other’s ) by trading in accordance w/ proactive practices.
What you are defending is not “ trading “, it’s commonly termed as “bid smothering” in an attempt to “lock in” profits.
This method is not only counter productive but it actually minimizes those profits & future profits by creating a stagnant / hesitant forward momentum phase in pps. This phase is man made, not a market driven organic phase.
Legitimate, seasoned “Traders” will layer sells into organic market volume to secure profits while NOT creating a deterrent in the momentum phase of a stocks pps progression.
This method is both beneficial to him / her and all other retail traders involved in that particular stock.
By layering sells you not only maximize your profits but now you have allowed the pps to increase as well. Now the shares you have retained are worth more than if you hammered the bids holding or even driving it down.
Also the bid side has most likely increased due to this momentum.
Over the course of a year one can actually lose thousands & thousands of $$’s by “smothering “ the bid.
The only ones that lose out by traders layering sells into volume are the MM’s.
