sjratty, I'm not sure there is value in continuing this discussion, and I agree with just about everything you say; but, my impression is that the "leading manufacturer(s)" who can trigger the Nokia and Samsung rate are specifically defined in the contracts.

In other words, its not just any old leading manufacturer. There's been many a debate on these boards going back a few years when we were trying to figure out who the "leading manufacturers" in the Nokia contract are. Then, when Ericsson signed up we were told that they were a "leading manufacturer".

Therefore, I do not believe that Samsung triggers Nokia nor that Nokia triggers Samsung. The only triggers for both are the named leading manufacturers in the 1999 Nokia contract.

Then again, I'm getting quite confused here ;)
