I would suspect that the 3 years could really be extended dramatically if the vaccine is cryogenically frozen. Another possibility I wonder about would be what they're doing with the reproduction of biologics which could result in a practically unlimited supply of the unique vaccine.

To me, it would be a shame if the vaccine was effective for a number of year, but the cancer would eventually come back when no more booster were available.

As I think most know, I'm on chemo for leukemia. If my doctor is convinced I can safely come off them, I will, but while I don't like the side effects, I would hate going through the whole process again, should I come out of remission, and at my advancing age it's doubtful that stem cells would be done again. I think what's being done at NWBO is a great start but if people pass away after a period of time because more of the vaccine can't be made, then the next step has to be finding a way to make more.

I'm not on Gleevec any more, but I remember when it was first approved, for one thing, the FDA did it very early in a Phase 3 Trial, which impressed me, but I also thought the drug developer had created a great drug for them as remission seemed to be maintained as long as the drug was given. It really hasn't changed that much today, the drug I'm on is third generation, but they still are not certain, even after many years where nothing can be found when the drug is discontinued a small percentage still come out of remission.
