(ENTA) Re: History of HCV program failures

When you look at all the big players that tried and failed in HCV, it really is a rather impressive list.

Indeed. Almost every Big Pharma—and dozens of small and mid-sized biotech companies—had an active HCV clinical program during the period from 2008-2011.

The post in #msg-62384804 contains my assessment of the HCV landscape in early 2011, which was around the time that the all-oral (no IFN) approach to curing HCV was starting to be taken seriously.

There were more than 100 posted versions of this HCV “cheat sheet” posted on this board, starting in late 2007, which can be examined for historical curiosity by following the Reply chain backwards from #msg-62384804.

For a small company like ENTA to emerge from such a clinical cacophony as part-owner of the best-in-class drug is a testament to the company’s drug-discovery expertise, with a bit of luck thrown in for good measure.
