Since amarins pricing (by us and all bulls) already has FDa approval priced in to the fair price, why not wait until the approval comes to make the bid? If the share price is $20 now and $30 after fda approval, if the final BO price is known by both sides to be 50+, they really have no reason to make the bid until vascepa has been FDA approved. I don’t think there’s much of a chance our stock price sees above $35 until after FDA approval, and neither does BP.

If BP does think we’re a $30 buy, then they most likely have made offers and management has rejected them. If they think we are a $50 buy, they know they have time and can further derisk the investment before making the bid. For them, an extra 2-5billion to spend is worth taking the FDA risk out of it (they’d rather pay $60 after than $50 now, both numbers higher than the current or post approval stock price will be)
