Dr. Horner mentioned that nine month stability testing might be required in an article published not long after the partnership with the UW
was announced way back in October 2017. Concerns over possible spontaneous combustion, especially aboard ship, surprised many of us; We didn’t know it was even an issue... and for management, mum was the word.

Then two months ago, Robin Eves finally broke his silence on the subject in that WSR audio interview... He stated unequivocally that moisture reabsorption and spontaneous combustion are NOT a problem. We can ass-u-me a batch was run through before the teardown. We’ve had plenty of time for longevity testing. Hmm, it just occurred to me that could've delayed our rebuild. The deep pockets financing construction would probably want the all-clear from Dr. Horner before digging their hole any deeper.
