Eves said a lot of things in that interview, including "Our technology, overall, will add to the sustainability of coal for many, many years to come."

Does that mean we're commercial now? Hardly. He's speaking as a booster. His assertion about longevity was the same thing -- what he believes, bolstered by what's been proven at lab scale.

Besides, I'm pretty sure the plant was decommissioned at AES long before Horner spoke in October 2017. It also strains credulity to believe the company would have been certain about long-term stability without trumpeting it loudly. If they had, there would have been no need for that paid-for platform Eves had to use.

In the December 2017 transcript

Mr Neary stated the testing was complete.

I've read many posts on here that suggest foreign coal samples will need to sit for 9 months (post testing) prior to CCTI obtaining a signed contract.

I'm not sure where that comes from..

IMO, reading this quote within the same transcript "Consider that India is projected to eventually reach 1 billion tons of coal consumption per year, and that domestically they'll cap out at around 600 million. So imports will eventually reach about 400 million per annum."

These 500-ton test batches may be solely for exploring extraction and blending techniques. Rather than India figuring out how to store clean/dry domestic coal for extended amounts of time. Using 1 Billion tons, while producing a measly 600 Million, doesn't leave much concern for stockpiling.. Instead, it gives Wyoming and the PRB a potential 400MM ton marketplace.

Just my opinion :)
