They can not go back in time and do more modern scans. They can not use the scans post determination as the patient will have in general started other treatment that could have an effect. They can not use immune markers, as those would certainly corrolate with DCVax. Hard to know what they can do w/o being 100% exploratory.

And do not forget they have already broken the blind on everybody (or at least 2/3) who has progressed by looking up shipping records. Kind of makes changing the endpoint not exactly proper.

That same SNO presentation closed with LL noting that DCVax was feasible and safe and "there is a significant subset of long term (> 3 year) survivors that warrant further investigation". Not exactly a ringing endorsement of a trial being a success.
