We’d have to get past the martians first. I blame them for the failures of many of the rovers and other things we sent there. They can’t destroy them all or we’d get suspicious. They are very wise in letting us keep the ones that don’t tell us much. No coincidence that the ones from which we were most hopeful of finding signs of life or civilization failed. Every single one. Very easy for us to dismiss any threat from them but they are aliens. We look for signs that are familiar to us. We don’t see them. They are waiting.
