CATCH 22. fish can't sell the stock would crash. They can't buy anything substantial because it would become too expensive.
Only one way out for Ferris, sell at a bargain price to someone who can properly market this one-trick-pony (my line). His ego probably would prevent that, UNLESS, he could negotiate a "Golden Parachute" for himself and Matt. The other guys on the BOD can take a flying leap.. At the moment this looks like an almost hopeless situation, but miracles happen sometimes and since we no longer have any skin in the game, I continue to root for the guys that stayed, even ardly.
