Will you be using Thinkorswim?

I am exploring the platform when I have time in the evenings.

I learned one thing of importance last night. To chart a comparison of two stocks or ETF's using Stockcharts, in the ticker box, I enter the two ticker symbols with a colon separating the two.

xxxx:yyyy

To accomplish the same in ToS, the colon needs to be replaced with a minus sign.

xxxx-yyyy

Adding the 6 and 10 day MA crossover to this ToS comparison chart is relatively straight forward using the charting tools pull down menu.

The ToS menus have changed a bit since this video was made two years ago, but the idea is the same.

I believe automatic trading can be accomplished by the ToS platform using the crossover of these two MA's, but I have not yet identified how to accomplish this.

At 5:50 of this video illustrates how to get ToS to send a text message when a crossover occurs. I believe a similar method is used to get ToS to automate a trade rather than sending a text message.

I will be attempting to learn about 'thinkscripts' this weekend in the hopes to identify just how to accomplish this.

If need be, their are people that will write custom Thinkscripts for a fee.
