I am not a fan of day trading. I know a few that do it. The first rule is never to risk more than 10% on a single trade. When you hit a home run, its only with 10% of available funds. This to limit down side risk. You have to have trades in play all the time limiting the downside risk with a loss stop, and letting your gainers play out to the high side. Way too many balls in the air for me to keep track of and be comfortable with my retirement finds.

On the other hand, Surfer, out of the box, is too hands off for me. I like the idea of 100% all in on the best choice, and I like the method (algorithm) Surfer uses to select the best choice at any point in time, but I would like to be able to adjust on a more frequent basis than 3-4 times a year.

I am searching for something in between.

What I learned from watching the September 2015 webinar was the logic and architecture behind Surfer, and its inner workings. Its the 'how and why' S Jud created it to do what it does. It also describes how 'Hall of Fame' strategies are selected, and how the rankings (strategy score number) are determined. If you haven't viewed this portion of the webinar yet, I suggest you do so. The webinar also explains that the algorithm eliminates not only the low performers, but also the ones that rise too quickly and then fall back. I wish their was a sensitivity scale on the Surfer algorithm that allowed for the quick risers to not be eliminated, but to come through for the Surfers that wished to be more active traders. This is what I explained to S Jud, and his response was 'not my target market', and to point me to the use of the Direxion 3x ETF strategy and 6/10 day MA cross overs.

If this is close to the frequency of trading you use to define swing trading, then we are working with the same philosophy. I am willing to learn from you.
