SSKILLZ---help a brother out here...the MLB service time issue for gaining the "extra" year of control says:
the MLB season is 187 days long
a player who serves at least 172 of those days is credited with a full year
so, you must keep a player down 16 calendar days to get to a maximum of 171---under the full year limit
Cubs did exactly that with Bryant in 2015
Guzman came up with Texas last night--which is 16 days after the start of the 2018 season 3/29/2018
but with Torres, they say he must stay down until Wed--20 days--or his option to the minors will be voided and his service time will be retroactive to Day 1 of the season---I am lost...
