Not debating that, although I hear that all time from the fans when they say go with the younger guy he has the higher ceiling, what they also forget often times he has the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower floor as well. Remember I liked the drury trade, and I think highly of him and he will eventually get over his migranes we hope. The problem is they still should of signed frazier (1) Leadership and intangibles. (2) Bird is always hurt, and they had no intention of calling torres up in the beginning of the season, those thing combined, and frazier is a better player than neil walker in my opinion. Better defensive player, better intangibles, and better power, and his obp will be higher at the end of the year as well.
Having said all of this I'm glad they didn't because I needed a 3b, my objection is really is your take like you don't need him, when drury is on the dl, bird is on the dl, andujar is yet to do anything and torres hasn't been called up yet either. And walker hasn't looked great. I get going the route the yankees did go (It wasn't a bad route), but it would of been better if they signed frazier instead of walker in my opinion.
