Yes they will start the vote by mid year, prepare for the stock conversion and then wait for approval by the regulatory agencies. Nobody will wait until the very last minutes to complete the merger. I would say that by Q3 if not sooner, it will be all done.

I have seen many of my stocks doing merger or getting acquired by some other company. From the news to the time when the ticker symbol disappearing from my watchlist, it is fairly fast within a few months. And WMIH and NSM are not huge companies like if a big phone company merging with a cable company for instance and there are all kind of antitrust laws and hearing involved.
