There is a ton of preservative laden crap that sells in these small stores. Everything they sell!... all the pastries, cookies, brownies, chips, candy, etc... Its hard to stock bread, but sometimes people need a loaf for that 3AM fishing trip and there is no other place to go
... and being able to grab one right off the truck, instead of placing orders and waiting to get it in stock, helps it move faster.
Convenient stores have a huge markup, but people still buy lots of that crap. I dont buy it that often, but it sells.
These preservatives might not be as bad as they seem. Id like to see what they use... Its not like a Twinky of Mcdonalds Hamburger which will survive a century. lol Its only a month
It actually might be similar to what Mcdonalds uses and they sure sell a lot of buns
