You could try System Restore which will return your machine to a point before the issues you describe occurred.
All it does is put your system back to an earlier time when it was working correctly but it leaves all your personal files and settings unchanged.
If you want to see all restore points that are available, put a check in the "Show more restore points box"...
Click the Start button, then type restore in the search box...then select System Restore and follow the simple instructions in the window that pops up.
