Yes, I agree. The states that have legalized pot have it pretty good right now. They get ALL the tax collected. Add in a federal tax, which would go along with federal legalization, and some customers might not be as eager to buy.

And while the states that allow sales of medical and/or recreational pot have their own regulations, I don't think they've created any quality controls, much less taken a stab at establishing the kind of standards the FDA would be likely to require. Research on medical applications seems still to be pretty much in its infancy.

Some states--many of them ones that would normally side with a Republican administration and a Republican Congress--are objecting on the grounds that it's a States' Rights issue. We'll see where that goes...
