Today I went to sign into my bank account on my home pc (which is the device I always use to sign onto my bank accts). I don't access my bank account everyday because I get notifications every time a transaction occurs.

So, I bring up the website to my bank, use the sign on feature that I always use and I get this message that either I entered the wrong user name or their system doesn't recognize my device. It gave me three options to notify me of a code to enter to continue the accessing of my account.

I called the bank before I tried to get the code to see why I got this message when I always use this computer. They said I could have erased my cookies (which I do all the time, nothing new there). They noted there was no device ID noted for my account.

So I went through the code process, asked their system to remember it always and accessed my account.

Question? These kinds of things are concerning. If all of a sudden a usual process says they don't recognize me, how can I be sure my computer hasn't been hijacked and the reason the banks security checks didn't recognize me is because what appears to be my computer but its not and the actual software running the system isnt what Ive always thought of as my PC... How do I know if what caused the banks system to not recognize me after doing so forever, is because my pc has been hijacked? Or is what happened just a glitch that happens and I don't need to be concerned some mirroring software hasn't hacked me? Does that make sense what I've encountered and tried to explain as to why?
