Would remyelination be regenerative?

The "re-" in remyelination means "again," where merely the insulating coat of materials surrounding nerves is, again, deposited.

No new nerve cells are created. No new nerves. No cells or organs are regenerated. Existing nerves do get restored myelin sheaths, allowing nerves to function normally.

Remyelination is equivalent to wrapping some electrical tape around a bare spot on an electrical cord. That keeps the cord from arcing out. But the electrical tape does not replace (regenerate) the cord.

Again, restoration of function, but not regeneration of a structure (in the body, cells, tissues, or organs).
