DEFINITELY! This does not necessarily have to be a contracted market maker controlling the stock price so 'another' entity can accumulate as many shares as they desire. It could be 'THAT' market maker accumulating for themselves. Could be prospective buyer or one seeking controlling interest. Having enough funds to buy and sell continuously provide easily for manipulating a stock price. Thus, who is 'market making' could be the ones accumulating. Nobody beats the BIG BOY company's on Wall Street at their own game. They have the power ($$$$) to make whatever they want, happen for their own benefit. That is why they are where they are, in the financial world!

Wouldn't it be nice if two of them were interested in this little company? Let the bidding begin!

One can dream, can't one?
