I'm sure the capacity was not there yet, but what kind of "Wow!" factor would it have been for Apple to announce for their $1,000.00 iPhone X that the frame is made of this "new" (not so new anymore, of course) material developed by NASA and Caltech called "bulk metallic glass" or "Liquidmetal"? Saying the frame is from "shiny stainless steel" is kind of like, "Oh, that's nice."

I'd suspect if the j.v.'s were bought into by other players, 2018 should be a banner year, but I guess we'll find out in 2018.
