Bill is completely right.... If a lab assists in pursuing a grant that is an obvious conflict of interest... I don't understand how you can't see that. If a letter of recommendation is a conflict of interest, then going the huge extra step of helping a company pursuing a grant is a huge conflict... Very simple and easy to understand. A rep saying that he is interested in the tech is a completely different story and unrelated to what bill is talking about.
