Anavex, in my opinion, is about to change the frame of reference from which clinicians approach the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. This takes much time before the paradigm shift begins. Once the consensus scientific theory about the pathophysiology of a disorder starts getting muddy with breakaways mounting with time, there then is a swift transition to the new consensus theory.

The belief that Alzheimer's is caused by the aggregation of beta-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles is starting to get muddied and the "consensus" scientific opinion is no longer.

We are in historic times in the neurosciences.....its wonderful to practice medicine during this transition!
