The System for Award Management (SAM) is an official website of the U.S. government. There is no cost to use SAM. You can use this site for FREE to:

Register to do business with the U.S. government
Update or renew your entity registration
Check status of an entity registration
Search for entity registration and exclusion records
And much more

Getting Started

You must have an active registration in SAM to do business with the Federal Government. To register in SAM, at a minimum, you will need the following information

Yet the website on how to do business with the govt says different. Pleas link DD showing SAM is not required PRIOR to being awarded a contract, as stated on their website.

Just because you say it's so, don't make it so. DD please.

Ohh, look what is in the link you provided... Ready...

By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee shall be registered in the System for Award Management prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract
