I think Farrah is under the impression that they are buying shares on the open market to become the owner instead of the sub.
Now I don't agree that is the reason IF pixel is buying shares. I would think they just do what you have been talking about. Spit out financials and then change everything into their name. But they don't have to buy up the shares to do this.
Now if the fins are coming out and Pixel is buying up shares on the open market because they know the shares are way undervalued and will be worth way more in the future that's another discussion.
