"Like for instance you don't want full grown trees."

sure you do..you want mature trees..

"Interestingly enough we will likely never have "trees"."

more attempts at spin...yes you will have trees..

"Trees have a considerably lower yield than saplings."

utter nonsense...mature trees have more leaves than saplings..you want as many leaves as you can get..

"It isn't the amount of trees that matter but the amount of shoots and crowns each tree has."

it all matters..the amount of trees of course matters...

"Some farms cut the sapling at around a foot tall and they "stump grow" the trees. It makes higher yield according to some but makes harvest easier and allows for other crops."

don't confuse yourself with overload of info..kblb doesn't want a bunch of stumps..im sure you get a good yield from them considering their pint size stature..but a 20 foot tree is going to give you more leaves than a foot tall tree...don't confuse yourself with "yield"..just use common sense..
easier harvest?..who cares?..get as many leaves as you can..other crops?...is kim interested in planting corn alongside the mulberries?..come on..

"So a little research would calm those thinking we will need to wait years for "trees" to grow before harvest."

how nice that you are able to refute a claim no one made..how about working on claims that were made?..

"The plant is a tree but it doesn't need to be what we see in our minds as a tree to produce silkworm food."

yea sure the leaves are the same..of course..
but I'm not sure why you are touting one foot trees as somehow being more productive than 20 foot trees..

"If Kim is smart he will begin cloning trees in about 6 months and turn our 2000 trees into 20000 trees in no time."

no..he will turn 2000 bigger saplings into something that is a lot smaller than the original saplings he started with..which is fine if time is of no concern...I guess it would come down to saving money and wasting time or spending money and saving time..

"There is too much information available here."

yes..apparently way too much..just keep it simple..

never mind about percentages, comparisons, pound for pound, other crops etc...

just use common sense...think about how many leaves you would get from a one foot tree vs a 70 foot tree...now, forget everything else you read..
