Fred that problem doesn't exist but I could see why people would think that.
I think those that see a problem with saplings need to do some DD.
I have been and I am learning a lot.

Like for instance you don't want full grown trees.

Interestingly enough we will likely never have "trees".

Trees have a considerably lower yield than saplings.

These trees are cloned. For those that don't understand this it is cutting off a branch and rooting it so it grows into a new tree.

They can be harvested in their first year.
It isn't the amount of trees that matter but the amount of shoots and crowns each tree has.

Some farms cut the sapling at around a foot tall and they "stump grow" the trees.
It makes higher yield according to some but makes harvest easier and allows for other crops.
About 30 tonnes per Ha with 100-150k shoots. (10-15k trees)

So a little research would calm those thinking we will need to wait years for "trees" to grow before harvest.

The plant is a tree but it doesn't need to be what we see in our minds as a tree to produce silkworm food.

Also shouldn't have to buy any more trees.
If Kim is smart he will begin cloning trees in about 6 months and turn our 2000 trees into 20000 trees in no time.

There is too much information available here...
