IDCC closed up 3.39% today. Out of the 40 stocks on my screener, 32 of them closed up at 3.39% or higher.

It is interesting to note that most stocks are NOT experiencing a pop of the magnitude of IDCC. This fact leads to a possible conclusion that somebody took the opportunity to hammer IDCC down in the generally down market, leading to an oversold condition. I would not jump to the conclusion that this was a concerted action by a group - given the market instability, it would not take a large volume of shorting to drive the price down.
