That isn't how aerospace works. Sometimes you make parts that are your design. Other times you make parts to a customer design. Boeing and Airbus and others have a whole flock of bearings that are their proprietary designs. They don't make bearings, so they send the drawings to a bearing manufacturer to make the bearings. That manufacturer can't share the information about the bearings with anyone else, since the bearing design belongs to the customer. That sounds like the situation here. He didn't say they weren't making the parts, only that the parts aren't his design so he cannot share the information. That's standard procedure. Glad I could clear that up for you.
