Patience.... From what you have told me so far, there is nothing wrong with your laptop or wireless adapter. The computer is working and the adapter "sees" available networks (which means it's working) and shows a list of the available networks when you left-click the "network icon" on the task bar..... Right?
Each network has a "name" displayed, including yours. That was what I was talking about.
We'll get through this taking it one step at a time.
