I have a 45 year old somewhat active friend who has been Type I Diabetic for 35 years. Recent lipid profile noted below. Endo looking to start her on statins but I don't know if she should take the risk. Any thoughts out there?

Total cholesterol: 212 mg/dL
HDL: 75mg/dL
LDL: 125 mg/dL
Triglycerides: 60 mg/dL
VLDL Cholesterol Cal: 12 mg/dL
