Velocity is a framework. Watson is built off that framework.

Think of it like this Watson is is the walls, fans, toilets and cabinets.

Velocity is the boards, electrical and plumbing.

In that case yes Watson has added some additional functionality to the framework, but Yippy still has legitimate ownership claim to the framework and vital components that run Watson.

Your saying that if someone wrote an outstanding program in Java language that Java would no longer be owned and fail to exist essentially rendering it unusable by any other party that chose to use that programming language.
