TTT--2 May 06: Market Stats Take Another Beating
Securities opened higher but closed lower on Monday. Combined NYSE and Nasdaq breadth finished on the minus side too. Breadth has been lagging relative to the price indexes for nearly three weeks now. New York Stock Exchange Volume fell to 2.46 billion shares from 2.50 billion shares, reflecting waning demand for stocks. On the NYSE, there were 230 New Highs and 122 New Lows on Monday. During March and April, when some TSP indexes were setting new highs, this daily Highs-Lows net balance showed a smaller Bullish difference than in January when there were 438 New Highs and 36 New Lows highs, on 27 Jan 06, thereby establishing a Bearish divergence. This Bearish divergence remains a problem. Currently, I'm in the safety of 100% G Fund awaiting more of a correction.
