I'm writing for my sister-in-law, Helen. She died 3 years ago from GBM. She spent her 40th birthday in the hospital, for some reason she kept collapsing and no one new why. After all the test, she was told she had GBM. They operated and removed most of it, but they could not get it all. She then underwent the standard Chemo and Radiation therapy, which took a tremendous toll on her mind and body.
Her ex husband sued her for custody of her 4 year old daughter (which is a whole nightmare in itself). At least he allowed us to pick up her daughter for visits. Helen died two years after her diagnosis.
We would have given anything to allow Helen to have more time. Her daughter is now 9. She asks about her mother whenever she visits and we go thru her old jewelry, pictures, etc. to keep her Mom's memory alive.
DCVax may have increased her quality of life, It may have shrunk her tumor where they could have removed all of it, most of all it may have allowed her more then two years with her daughter. She may even had been able to keep her daughter, because she wouldn't have been so debilitated from the standard treatment of Chemo and Radiation.
I've been in this stock since the beginning, about 5 years, so I am very committed. This is the first time I've written on this board, but I am an avid reader. It's too late for Helen, but I'm sure there are many, many families DCVax could help.
