I thought you might say, "They appear to be good honest people." Are you free to say if you know them personally so you could draw conclusions about their character based upon more than just communication on this board? If you don't wish to say or can't say, just ignore this post--my question is potentially a "guilty knowledge" question and I despise those.
You could always send a letter to the Board through the Kennedy SC office recommending people, you know. I know that letters sent to Drew have made it to him that way--although I think he is behind on answering them. LOL. I would assume letters to the board would be handled that way as well, just slower.
I like both FBD and RW as candidates as well, although I don't know about their honesty from any personal experience. A board member has to be collaborative as well IMO and they both seem to give evidence of that by interactions here. This is a hypothetical exercise of course and I was more curious about characteristics of good board members. So far we have two suggested--
independence
honesty
I would add business acumen (it is still a good word), including professionalism and intelligence. Your candidates still seem to pass muster.
On a practical side, if you have publicly stated your opinion is the CEO should be sacked, you are probably unlikely to be appointed to the board as long as that CEO remains. LOL. Otherwise appointing you would be a tacit step in that direction, no? I don't think things work that way. JMO. Thanks for responding, IJO
